"There Will Be Blood 2" filming completed

After the enormous artistic and critical success of There Will Be Blood, Paramount Vantage is delighted to announce it has greenlit a sequel, to start shooting this summer. "The first film only covered the beginning chapters of the novel it's based on," Academy-Award-nominated producer Scott Rudin said. "There is much more in Upton Sinclair's Oil! we can mine, if you'll excuse the pun." Neither Paul Thomas Anderson nor Daniel Day-Lewis will return for the second film, tentatively entitled There Will Be Lots More Blood. Instead, Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis (Crash) has signed on to write and direct. The role of Daniel Plainview will be played by Robin Williams.
